We take Matthew 5:15 serious, ‘If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand!’ We are called to stand up in our schools and shine God’s light. Through doing this we saw how much impact bringing Christian high school students together, empowering them to minister in their schools and supporting them as they minister can have and so decided not to just stop with Melbourne. In Sydney and Brisbane there are networks just beginning with networks to start up in Perth and Adelaide in the near future. Our networks within each state are entirely run by teams of high school students. These are students who have a passion to see not only their schools saved but also to see other schools in their city saved. We train these students so that they can run a conference and oversee the running of R-groups themselves. Each student leader has an adult mentor who is not only responsible for encouraging their student leader as a student leader but also in challenging them in their faith.
We are passionate about seeing EVERY high school proclaiming and glorifying Jesus Christ. We believe the first step to seeing this come into fruition is uniting high school students together on a regular basis to pray, encourage one another, ignite one another’s passions for being a light in their schools and work together to see the schools in their regions saved. If the high school students are going to stand up and be a light it is important they are empowered to do this. We network and partner with Para-Churches and Churches who can help support student’s ministries in their schools. Empowering students to run their ministry themselves, with the support of the Churches, Para-Churches and CROSSing Australia, is our ultimate aim. When students stand up and shine their light themselves, that is when the biggest impact is caused in a school. Once school ministries are established it is so important to support these student run ministries so we make it our aim to support these ministries and any other already established student ministries that we can, in what ever way the students need support. This includes raising prayer support, providing resources, providing ministry networks (other students, speakers, bands, sponsors, organizations who can support their ministry, etc…) and doing whatever is necessary to make these student run ministries a success.
